You know what day it is ladies (ummhumm..) WEIGH-IN TIME!

I'm so excited and I can not hide it (hehehe), okay lets step on the scale ;-)

As-salaam Alaikum sisters,

As you may know, I weigh myself every Monday so that you guys can see my progress (Watch Me Shrink!), well today is Monday yet again so I stepped on the scale and weighed-in at 183 lbs, I Lost 2 lbs (Yaaas!) Al-hamdulillah wa Masha'Allah T.A.

WHAT I'VE BEEN UP TO

As-salaam Alaikum ladies!


Okay so pretty much I've been doing the same routine of exercise trying to perfect them:
  1. Total Body Kettlebells
  2. Workout Trainer: Lose it (I've completed the 4 week program Lose it), Pilates and Yoga
  3. Walking 5 or more miles
  4. Playing with "Da Boy" at the park (making sure that we run, jump, hop and skip.. making it count, keeping my heart rate monitor in zone 2 for as long as possible)

Al-hamdulillah I've lost another 1lb (yaaay!)  I'm very excited and can't wait until I lose my first 20lbs; Yes I have a long way to go, but it's all good and we know that  good things come to those who work hard for it and wait ;-)

Banana Ice Cream & Almonds

As-salaam Alaikum,

So today I saw a recipe for banana ice cream online and decided to try it out (yaaay).

I only used 4 ingredients:


  • Frozen bananas
  • Vanilla
  • 3 tablespoons of water (to make blending easy. Substitute with milk if you prefer)
  • Almonds to toppings

Directions:


Put the first three ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth, scoop out into bowls and add your toppings :)
You can add a little cocoa powder to make it chocolate if like and enjoy!

CHECKING IN

As-salaam Alaikum ladies,


Insha'Allah everyone is doing good with their weight-loss journeys, ameen ya rab.
As for me, I've been keeping it simple. I haven't ate anything new, I'm simply rotating the same recipes since I know what works for me and guess what, my family haven't complained Al-hamdulillah. 

I'm still doing the same exercises:
  • Kettlebells (about 35 min)
  • Pilates or Yoga (about 35 min)
  • Playing at the park with "the boy" or walking (60 min)

Now that i'm done with yet another diet challenge you must be wondering "what I'm up too", well nothing at the moment.  I have decided to take a week off and get use to my new healthy way of eating and living.  I will continue to eat real food and

WEIGH-IN:

As-salaam Alaikum ladies!

It's time to see how much weight I lost during the seven day challenge (Yaaay!).


Okay so I was 188.5 lbs last Monday March 2nd, 2015 and I am 186 lbs (ALHAMDULILLAH!).
So I lost a total of 2.5 pounds in a seven day period MashAllah; Now of course I worked out everyday doing a mixture of kettlebells, Pilates or  Yoga and I played with "The boy" at the park making sure that I got a workout ;)  and this is the results.

Okay So I got busy with life and wasn't able to blog but I took pictures and wrote down what I've ate and everything, check it out!



Breakfast: Oatmeal, one Banana and two eggs & Green tea with mint

Lunch: Chicken Caesar Salad & 2 small Sweet Potatoes

Should You Eat Back The Calories Burned From Exercise?

As-salaam Alaikum,

QUESTION: My goal is to lose weight. I understand all of the diet stuff and I figured out how many calories I need to eat per day to make fat loss happen.

However, I’m also going to be doing some form of exercise 4-5 times per week. Some days will be weight training, other days will be cardio. Some days I’ll do both.

My question is, am I supposed to eat back the calories burned from working out? For example, if my goal calorie intake is 2000 calories and I eat that amount ...

DAY TWO: WHAT I ATE

As-salaam Alaikum ladies,

Below is what I ate Tuesday:




Lunch: Chicken Caesar Salad
I also had 2 small sweet potatoes,
1/2 cup of whole milk yogurt with 1/2 cup of black berries and a tablespoon of raw honey.




Dinner: Spinach with tomato sauce & Grilled Chicken
(It may not look appetizing but it was very good! The family had Israeli couscous with theirs) 


For Breakfast: I had turkey sausage 4 oz, an egg and a banana, I didn't have time for anything else I had an outing.
